While many
Canadian junior mining companies
have focused their attention on
better-known areas such as Quebec,
Ontario, BC and the Yukon,
Vancouver-based Greenlight
Resources Inc. (TSX-V: GR) has
instead directed their efforts
toward acquiring and developing
projects in Atlantic Canada. In the
process, they have assembled an
array of prospective projects
involving gold, silver, base metals,
graphite, manganese, lithium and a
variety of Rare Earth Elements (REE).
Greenlight’s
projects and their current
development status includes:
BRAZIL LAKE –
Lithium and Rare Metals (Nova
Scotia) – Brazil Lake is located 30
Km north of Yarmouth, NS and
drilling to date has revealed
several lithium-bearing pegmatite
dykes which company geologists
believe also host several other rare
metals such as tantalum, niobium,
beryllium, tungsten tin and
rubidium. The company is in the
process of testing and evaluating
the Silchlor Cyclic Vacuum
Chlorination process of extracting
lithium and other REE at Brazil
Lake.
PORCUPINE PROJECT
– Rare
Earth Elements plus gold, silver and
base metals (New Brunswick) –
Porcupine is located in east-central
New Brunswick and the south claim
block contains a REE target while
the north claim contains gold,
silver and base metals targets. The
company is presently conducting a
geophysical survey in order to
refine the location of drill targets
identified by earlier soil sampling
and prospecting programs.
KEMPTVILLE
PROJECT –
Gold (Nova
Scotia) – Kemptville is located in
south-central Novas Scotia in an
area where high grade gold was
discovered and produced from two
mines, the “Kempt” and the “Cowan”
over 100 years ago. Greenlight
recently conducted a drill program
in spring 2011 and has also just
uncovered several groups of boulders
of crenulated, silicified
greywacke. The company plans to
develop future drill locations and
also assess the alluvial gold
potential at Kemptville.
KEYMET PROJECT –
Silver
and Base Metals (New Brunswick) –
Keymet is located 24 Km NNW of
Bathurst, NB and covers some 6,400
acres. The project was in operation
from 1954 to 1956 and produced
56,000 tons of ore grading 0.25% Cu,
2.44% Pb, 2.59% Zn and 0.99 opt Ag.
Production ceased following a 1956
fire but based on historic
geophysical and geochemical data,
company geologists believe there is
good evidence that a series of three
and possibly four parallel vein
systems occur on the property.
Greenlight plans to ultimately
conduct diamond drilling programs at
the suggested four vein systems.
GOLDEN GROVE
PROJECT –
Graphite (New
Brunswick) – Golden Grove is located
24 Kim NE of Bathurst, NB where high
grade graphite mining took place
roughly between 1880 and 1910. A
program is presently being planned
to explore pre-existing trenches and
rock dumps in order to obtain
samples of high grade graphite to
establish grain morphology.
Prospecting and mapping programs are
also in the planning stage with a
view to developing a larger tonnage
deposit.
TOMAHAWK PROJECT
–
Manganese (New Brunswick) – The
Tomahawk Ridge manganese prospect,
covering 52 claims over 2,080 acres
in NE New Brunswick, was discovered
in 1976 and Noranda subsequently
acquired the project in 1979 but no
further work was conducted.
Greenlight recently acquired the
project and a program including
trenching and eventual drilling is
in the early planning stages.
There are several
specific advantages relating to
exploring and developing properties
in Eastern Canada’s Maritime
Provinces including excellent
support from provincial governments;
subsidies for specific areas of
scientific applications; an
excellent general infrastructure as
well as a cost structure which is
lower than in many other areas of
the Dominion.
Greenlight’s
exploration and development work
also involves minerals which appear
directly relevant to America’s Green
Energy Initiative.
Greenlight’s
management team is headed by
President Christopher Anderson and
the Board of Directors includes
Anderson, J. Paul Sorbara, Richard
Granholm, Alex Von Kleist and
Antony Claydon.

of Greenlight’s properties and
activities will be prepared and
posted following a property visit
currently scheduled for early
November, 2011
